Live graffiti production painted in El Paso, Texas during the Borderland Jam Graffiti Festival during Memorial weekend in 2022.
WHAT IS A “GRAFFITI” PRODUCTION?
A "graffiti" production is a large artwork featuring styled letters, a consistent color scheme, characters, and a background. Depending on the wall size, it is usually created by a team of artists. Many cities worldwide hold mural and graffiti festivals to connect the global art community, share ideas, and support cultural exchange.
IF YOU ARE LOCATED IN A HISTORIC DISTRICT, PLEASE CONSIDER READING THE INFORMATION IN THE LINKS BELOW DURING YOUR RESEARCH AND PLANNING OF YOUR MURAL.
SITE PREPARATION
This may include pressure washing to remove dirt and debris and fixing any cracks or bumps in the surface. Depending on the location, base primer is rolled or sprayed.
MURAL PAINTING
The artist oversees the mural painting, which may be executed using different styles and techniques. Once the painting is finished, it's recommended to apply a sealant (like a vandalism guard) to protect the mural from sun damage and allow for easy cleaning if it gets tagged. You can clean it with water and a cloth, avoiding detergents or brushes.
DOCUMENTATION
The artist or business owner can document the mural's progress with video or photos. We suggest that building owners hire a professional photographer or videographer for the best results.

WALL DONATION QUESTIONS

DO YOU ACCEPT RESIDENTIAL WALLS?
We prefer commercial walls because they are usually more prominent and publicly accessible. We do make exceptions for walls that have great public access and visibility. Artist can also be commissioned for specific themes.
DO YOU ACCEPT VEHICLES?
Yes. Preferably box trucks, vans, shipping containers, cargo trailers, etc. Artist can also be commissioned if the business name or specific theme is preferred.
DONATED WALL AGREEMENT
The wall agreement allows for painting a mural and preparing the wall for it. We ask the property owner to not paint over the mural for one year.
Mural costs are real and vary based on wall size and accessibility. They include wall preparation, supplies, labor, and insurance.
